Should Freelancers Follow News Enterprises' Social Media Policy?

https://splinternews.com/the-new-york-times-demands-its-freelancers-follow-its-b-1821124052 Just like any other media tycoon, New York Times starts to take tactics on maintain social media image. This reveals the mouth of social media and the power of users' comments. I don't think freenlancers should follow New York Times social media policy unless they have a long-term cooperation contract with NYT, or if they want to gain some credit by identifying on social media account.

Reacting to a meme

I accidentally found a TED talk made by Justin Baldoni. In his speech, Baldoni talked about his definition of masculinity. As a female, I have to say, this is a touching speech. No wonder Baldoni has so many female fans. This is how Justin Baldoni, an outspoken feminist, reacted to a viral meme #MeToo. Also, this is a vivid example of how social media affect our lives in a positive way.

Favorite YouTuber Got Attacked. No privacy In Social Media Era?

My favorite YouTuber is Ben Deen, a Korean-American who got adopted by a family living in Chicago,  now goes back to South Korea to be connected with original family. Haven't updated videos in half a month, Ben Deen uploaded a video yesterday telling YouTube what is going on. It turns out he got a severe attack after his very last live stream. A man with black mask rushed into his house and forced him to write down everything that can identify himself so that the attacker can steal them and go to the state making some money. Insane, right? Besides feeling sorry for Ben Deen, I start to think about the privacy and personal security in social media era. It reminds me an old gentleman I met in Vietnman. He told me he didn't have a Facebook account because he didn't want people to find him. At that time, I feel inconvenient because social on Facebook become a habit. However, after studying crisis communication and social media strategy, aligning with my fre...

【Original】Channing Tatum “Interviews” Ellen DeGeneres

"Spending time on social media makes you more productive."---- Erik Qualman YouTube Channel cut the prime of a show. I accidentally found this "interview" on Jimmy Kimmel's YouTube channel. To compete with other live shows,  this is a new episode that brought up to invite celebrities to be a host interviewing others. The posted video is Channing Tatum interviewing another worldwide famous host- Ellen DeGeneres. Unfortunately, this interview turned out to be awkward and unentertaining.  "Don't let the conversation drop on the ground" One of the essential skills to be a host or journalist is to keep a conversation going. There is even a strict standard for how long the dialogue should break and how many seconds for a dialogue break. In the video, we can see Tatum has no idea how to continue or pick up a hint. Dominate your Dialogue Except for the first question Channing threw to Ellen,  for the whole 7 mi...
