Should Freelancers Follow News Enterprises' Social Media Policy?

Just like any other media tycoon, New York Times starts to take tactics on maintain social media image. This reveals the mouth of social media and the power of users' comments.

I don't think freenlancers should follow New York Times social media policy unless they have a long-term cooperation contract with NYT, or if they want to gain some credit by identifying on social media account.
